Nine schools, grades pre-K through 12, comprise the Summit school district. On a 2019 US News and World ReportScorecard, Summit High School earned a 97.14 percent overall score. In a recent survey, Summit public schools were ranked number 4 among 243 best school districts for athletes in New Jersey, and number 4 of 243 best school districts in New Jersey. Its Franklin Elementary School is ranked number 9 in the state.
